The Tharston Consultancy

Site visits may be necessary  to assess and correct hard-ware or system problems.  I have been as far afield as Latvia, Dubai and Oman to trouble-shoot.

I have much experience of site surveys and produced a survey sheet to help the surveyor note important details about door type and construction.

Having installed Access Control hardware for many years I understand the need for clear Fitting Instructions and can produce the required text and artwork.

Hardware made abroad often does not have accessories to suit UK joinery.                I have designed items such as rebated components for locks to solve this..

Cable runs are an essential part of many Access Control systems. The wrong gauge of cable will cause voltage drop.My Excel spreadsheet gets it right!

In order to keep the market informed as to what is available to meet specifications as well as what is required by legislation I have written articles for trade journals.

I have devised a range of brackets for an electromagnetic lock that comprised one bracket, one fixing component and a standard machine screw in various combinations.

Most suppliers will give you details on how to connect their hardware together.   But if the lock comes from one source and the controls from another I can produce the necessary schematics.

I have given training sessions and held seminars for hardware manufacturers and wholesalers as well as the trade organisations the MLA and the GAI.
